State Oil
Company Suriname LLC (Staatsolie),
is an integrated oil company working
in the field of exploration,
production, transporting, refining
of crude and the sale of petroleum
products. Staatsolie also actively
improves the development of the
Surinamese crude potential. At seven
operation sites in Saramacca,
Paramaribo and Wanica more than 660
motivated employees contribute to
the further development of the
national petroleum industry.

Exploration Geologist
(m/v)

The
Job
- Have data acquisition
programs carried out for
acquiring geological and
geophysical data, including
planning and executing
geological and geophysical data
acquiring and quality control as
well as
processing geological and
geophysical data.
- Regional geology studies in
order to identify petroleum
potential, including collecting
and analyzing
all existing data, drafting
geological models and
identifying prospects and leads,
reserves calculations and
contribute to making an economic
analysis.
- Promoting the petroleum
potential, including designing
promotion material such as
flyers, posters and
participating in international
events for promoting the
petroleum potential.
- Several duties, including
contributing to drafting
budgets, quarterly and annual
reports and
participating in meetings to
discuss the progress as well as
training sessions.
The Profile
- Academic education in
Geology.
- Knowledge of petroleum
geology, geophysics, petroleum
physics and the study of
sediments.
- Knowledge of economic
principles and of establishing
economic models
- At least 3 years of work
experience in crude exploration
or production, geophysics and
petrol physics
and the study of sediments.
- Analytical and social
skills.
- Creative, flexible thinking.
- Fluency in Dutch and
English, both orally and in
writing.
- Computer skills,
specifically focused on
geological interpretation
programs, GIS applications.
- Ability to work despite
shifting objectives and work
load.

Exploration Geologist
(m/v)

De
functie
- Laten uitvoeren van data
acquisitie programma’s voor het
verkrijgen van
geologische en geofysische
informatie zoals het plannen en
uitvoeren van
geologische en geofysische data
acquisitie en kwaliteitscontrole
van acquisitie
en processing van geologische en
geofysische gegevens.
- Regionale geologische
studies voor het identificeren
van het aardoliepotentieel,
waaronder verzamelen en
analyseren van alle bestaande
data,
opstellen van geologische
modellen en identificeren van
prospects en leads,
reserve berekeningen en
bijdragen aan economische
analyse.
- Promoten van het aardolie
potentieel, waaronder ontwerpen
van promotiemateriaal
zoals flyers, posters en
deelname aan internationale
evenementen
om het potentieel uit te dragen.
- Diverse werkzaamheden
waaronder het leveren van
bijdragen aan budget
begrotingen, kwartaal- en
jaarverslagen en deelnemen aan
werkbijeenkomsten,
werkoverleg, trainingen.
Het Profiel
- HUniversitaire opleiding
Geologie.
- Kennis van petroleum
geologie, geofysica, petrofysica
en sedimentologie.
- Kennis van economische
principes en van het opzetten
van economische
modellen.
- Tenminste 3 jaren ervaring
in aardolie exploratie of
productie, geofysica,
petrofysica en sedimentologie.
- Analytische en sociale
vaardigheden.
- Creatieve, flexibele
mindset.
- Goede mondelinge en
schriftelijke
uitdrukkingsvaardigheden in het
Nederlands en het Engels.
- Computervaardigheden met
name geologische interpretatie
programma’s,
GIS applicaties.
- Kunnen werken onder steeds
veranderende werkdoelen en
werkdruk.
