3D Data Acquisition Block 47, 42 and 45

Western RegentOn 23 May 2012, Tullow Suriname B.V. and Statoil Suriname AS started with the 3D Seismic acquisition in their Block 47, Offshore Suriname. The survey covers an area of 3000km2 and is expected to be finished by mid September. WesternGeco’s Western Regent tows twelve Q streamers of 7,000 m in length at a separation of 100 m. The source is a Dual Bolt gun source, with 3 sub-arrays per source.

On 31 May 2012, Kosmos Energy and Chevron Global Energy signed an agreement that made it possible for Kosmos to transfer 50 percent of its interest in offshore blocks 42 and 45 to Chevron.

Staatsolie 2D Regional Seismic Completed

Staatsolie is pleased to announce that the 5000km 2D marine seismic over the Demerara Plateau was completed in December 2011. The data will be available in the fourth quarter of 2012 as part of the 2013 Data package.

Staatsolie signs production sharing contracts

Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. signed three production sharing contracts on Tuesday 13 December 2011, for exploration and prospective production of the offshore blocks 42, 45 and 48. The contracts were signed with the American firms Kosmos Energy and Murphy Oil for blocks 42/45 and 48 respectively.
