More than eight hundred people from Suriname and the rest of the world are participating in the Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit and Exhibition (SEOGS) 2023. This international conference will take place from 19 to 22 June. At the same time there is exhibition with participation of local and international companies. Staatsolie is the host of SEOGS 2023.
By organizing SEOGS Staatsolie is responding to the tremendous local and global interest in developments in offshore Suriname. The theme of SEOGS 2023 is 'Suriname open for business'. The aim of the conference is to bring Suriname to the attention of the world and to promote it as an attractive country for investmenting. Representatives of local and foreign companies from the energy, oil and gas sector, related industries, governments and institutions will participate in SEOGS 2023. The program includes key notes, panel discussions, presentations and social events.
Staatsolie also wants to contribute to the development of local content with SEOGS. Through presentations and panel discussions, local companies will learn of the opportunities during the exploration and development phase and after production has started in our offshore. By optimally responding to these opportunities, Suriname and its people will be able to benefit as much as possible from this industry. Local content can be described as the extent to which Surinamese companies and citizens participate in the economic activities associated with the offshore finds. This concerns the provision of local goods and services and the filling of jobs by Surinamese.
President Chandrikapersad Santokhi will open SEOGS 2023 on Monday afternoon, 19 June. The exhibition, with participation of local and international companies, will be held from 19 to 22 June on the grounds of Hotel Torarica. The exhibition is free to visit from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but pre-registration is required.
