Chantal Doekhie is an experienced legal professional and policy advisor with a broad career within the Surinamese government. She obtained her master’s degree in law from Anton de Kom University of Suriname and holds a master’s degree in development & policy from the Institute for Graduate Studies & Research.

She has held various senior leadership positions, including Director at the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Land and Forest Management and Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Suriname in the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Chargé d’Affaires e.p.). She also served as a member of the Supervisory Boards of Hakrinbank N.V. (2016–2021) and N.V. Energiebedrijven Suriname (2019–2020). She currently serves as Advisor to the Office of the Vice President.
