The 'Oil & Gas Program' at the Natuur Technisch Instituut Suriname (NATIN) provides an educational opportunity for the development of local work capacity in the Surinamese oil and gas industry. This program is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V., the Ministry of Education, Science, and Culture, local businesses, and international oil companies active in Suriname.

The goal of this program is to provide offshore oil and gas specific knowledge and skills to Surinamese students so they can contribute to the growth and development of the national oil and gas sector.

The program focuses on three key aspects:

1. Knowledge Development:

The program provides students with a solid theoretical foundation in oil and gas-related disciplines. They learn about the technical aspects, geology, and the environmental and safety standards applicable in the industry. This enables them to participate in complex projects and technical challenges in the oil and gas sector.

The 'Oil & Gas Program' is a part of the NATIN Upgrade Project, initiated with the aim of enhancing the quality and capability of the Surinamese workforce. The project includes strengthening of current NATIN programs, upgrading the infrastructure of NATIN and enhance the overall sustainability and quality of the Institute.
