Agnes Moensi-Sokowikromo

Agnes Moensi-Sokowikromo, Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of Staatsolie, holds an International Executive Master of Finance and Control (Register Controller) degree from Maastricht University and the University of Amsterdam, as well as a Master's degree in Business Economics from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. 

Prior to her appointment as Finance Director in 2015, Agnes held several key positions within Staatsolie, including Deputy Finance Director from 2009 – 2015, and several other management roles. Prior to joining Staatsolie in 1993, she worked at Ernst & Young Suriname and at Tjong A Hung Accountants. 

 

As Chair of the Financing Committee of Staatsolie, responsible for arranging financing for the long-term investment program she has led the structuring and execution of major funding transactions, including: 

  • A USD 195 million local bond issue; 
  • A USD 600 million senior secured corporate facility with regional and international banks; 
  • A USD 120 million senior secured facility for the expansion of Staatsolie Power Company Suriname; 
  • And in early 2025 securing Staatsolie’s participation in the GranMorgu Project, the first oil development offshore Suriname: USD 500 million raised with the refinancing of the local bond and USD 1.6 billion in a senior secured corporate facility with a consortium of 18 banks and investors. 

 

She serves as member of the Joint Venture Boards of Staatsolie’s gold partnerships and as Chair of the Board of the Suriname Conservation Foundation Green Partnership Program. 

She has served as Chair and member of the Supervisory Boards of the subsidiaries of Staatsolie. In addition she has been the Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Hakrinbank and member of the Board of the Suriname Conservation Foundation. 

Agnes is a proud Rotarian, has served as Chair of the Rotary Club of Paramaribo Residence and as District Treasurer for the Rotary District 7030.
