Our Open-Door Offering is a key enabler for unlocking the potential of Suriname's offshore hydrocarbon resources. We warmly invite companies to explore opportunities across our shallow and deepwater open acreage. The open acreage consists of 5 Sectors, with a total acreage of more than 70,000 km² and water depths varying from 5 – 3,000 m.
Suriname ranks among the world's top five basins for discovered hydrocarbon volumes. The country also presents low above-ground risks, with stable contracts and a friendly business environment.
Our basin stands out as a global exploration hotspot, driven by its proven petroleum systems and a series of hydrocarbon discoveries since 2019. With high impact exploration wells being drilled in 2025 - 2027, the basin is positioned to unlock even greater value, building on the exceptional prospectivity within Lower and Upper Cretaceous turbidite systems. Extensive acreage with significant exploration potential remains unexplored.
