GeoAtlas of Suriname

The GeoAtlas provides an integrated, high-level summary of Suriname’s petroleum geology within the broader Guiana Basin. It is a compilation of the region’s exploration history, basin evolution, stratigraphy, Petroleum system elements, and a comparative assessment of discovered versus prospective (yet‑to‑find) resources into a single reference designed for decision makers, exploration geoscientists, regulators, and investors.

Some highlights from the GeoAtlas include:

  • Summarized stratigraphic frameworks denoting depositional systems, with facies distributions, emphasizing lateral and vertical facies variability that controls reservoir presence and continuity across play fairways.
  • Source rock distribution and assessment are presented with focus on organic richness, kerogen type, thermal maturity, and generative potential across stratigraphic intervals.
