Demerara Bid Round 2022/2023

Staatsolie Hydrocarbon Institute (SHI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V., is pleased to announce the launch of a competitive bid round of six new blocks in the currently sparsely explored Demerara acreage of Suriname. The blocks are located east to the current offshore discoveries and have a water depth varying from 400 to 3500 meters. The data room containing data and information on the open acreage opens on 28 November 2022 and will close to new bidders on 28 April 2023, with bids to be submitted by 31 May 2023.

We are pleased to announce that the 2022-2023 Demerara Bid Round successfully closed for bid submissions as per 31 May 2023. We received qualified bids for three of the six blocks offered from several companies and/or consortia.

Data Packages

Companies which are authorised as bidders having signed the Registration Confidentiality Agreement will be provided free remote online access to all the data included in the DBR Data Packages, including a defined period of access to the Kingdom Workstation project seismic.

Interested parties may, however, wish to purchase one of more of the available DBR data packages available, which are summarised below and in the accompanying map, in order to be able for format, manipulate the data including the seismic in-house.

The links below provide access to forms required for interested parties wishing to acquire one or more of the various data packages. The data sets and corresponding values are included in the Data Package Lease Request Form. The Data Package Confidentility Agreement differs from the Registration Confidentility Agreement.
