Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. (Staatsolie) plans to conduct a seismic survey in the Shallow Offshore area of Suriname. This area extends from the coastline to halfway between offshore blocks 15, 52, and 58, between the maritime borders with French Guiana and Guyana. The total study area covers approximately 52,400 km², with water depths ranging from 0 to about 500 meters. The survey aims to gain insight into subsurface structures and the oil and gas potential.
Before the seismic activities, a Limited Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is required in accordance with the guidelines of the National Environment Authority (NMA). Staatsolie has appointed ILACO Suriname N.V. (ILACO) to carry out this study. As part of this MEA, we cordially invite you to an online stakeholder meeting, during which we will explain the project and look forward to gathering your feedback and points of attention. The meeting will be recorded for reporting purposes, and your input will be incorporated into the further development of the MEA.
